In 2008, 225,000 students in grades 4 to 8 participated in school spelling bees as part of the CanWest CanSpell National Spelling Bee.
Regional winners travelled to Ottawa–Gatineau to further their skills at the national competition. While in the Capital, they enjoyed sightseeing, special events, and the company and friendship of other super spellers!
