Wildlife, plant life and geological resources are protected in the Park. The following are prohibited and subject to fines: cutting, defacing, removing or damaging trees, shrubs, flowers or living soil cover; killing, injuring, capturing or molesting wildlife or other animals; changing the soil, rock outcroppings or any other substance.

  • No alcoholic beverages.
  • Camping is allowed in designated areas only. Spending the night elsewhere than in the shelters available to the public is prohibited.
  • No domestic animals are permitted at campgrounds, beaches, picnic areas, shelters or cabins, or on the Pink Lake, King Mountain, or Luskville Falls trails.
  • When on permitted trails, animals must be on a leash that is no more than 2 metres long.
  • No hunting or collecting plants.
  • Garbage must be collected.
  • Feeding wild animals is prohibited (racoons, squirrels, etc.).
  • Swimming is allowed only at supervised beaches.

Specific rules apply to certain activities such as mountain biking. It is your responsibility to be informed of these rules before engaging in your favorite activity in Gatineau Park.
